Animal Lovers

Edinburgh Zoo

A great day out for the whole family. Wear sensible walking shoes, as it is quite hilly.

Residents tip – If you don’t fancy going to the actual zoo, you can go for a walk on Corstorphine Hill and look out for a chance encounter with a zebra, or a lion on the other side of the zoo fence!

Deep Sea World

Scotland’s National Aquarium. Book ahead and treat yourself to a shark dive. Great day out for all the family, and something to be enjoyed when the outdoors is not so inviting.

Residents tip – If your kids love a train journey then catch the train to North Queensferry and ride over the iconic Forth Rail Bridge.

Scottish Owl Centre Bathgate

The largest collection of owls in the world with over 100 birds. Daily flying displays and hold an owl experience.

Bobcat Alpacas

Alpaca Experience visits or farm visits. Tickets are £25 per alpaca walked, up to 2 people per alpaca. Children under 9 may need an adult to share the rope. Alpacas are sociable animals, so minimum of 2 alpacas per experience. Experiences are currently booked up to 2 months in advance, so please reserve as early as possible.
