Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Service is arguably the best I have ever received. The “House” seafood platter for £95 was to die for. Although admittedly on the more pricey side of things, the whole lobster, pickled mussels, oysters, scotch bonnet salmon, tuna tartare, dressed crab & marinated octopus totally make it worth it. It’s also lovely to sit by the window looking out on the Royal Mile. The perfectly set buttermilk panna cotta with rhubarb and jelly dessert for £8 is fabulous and a brilliant way to end the dining experience. Overall a fantastic venue with a great menu and a solid wine list at reasonable prices. A memorable experience from an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team.

The restaurant is spotlessly clean with beautiful decor, and a lovely atmosphere. The staff are very accommodating, keen to answer any questions and always so friendly. They use delicious and fresh ingredients to create mouthwatering dishes. Beautifully cooked seafood that’s full of flavour. You can never go wrong with the native lobster on the dinner menu for £30 served with smoked butter sauce. By far THE best lobster I’ve ever tried! ALL the desserts are outstanding but my personal favourite is the treacle tart for £6 served with cornish clotted cream. If you’re a seafood lover looking for a nice restaurant in Old Town Edinburgh, Ondine Restaurant is definitely the one for you.

The service and food here are both excellent. From the waiting staff to the chefs, everyone is so friendly and the food is always really fresh and tastes incredible. The crispy battered prawns with chilli jam followed by seabass & seafood mixed grill is just mouth watering and second to none. Great place for a family meal, out with friends, or a date. I was delighted with the whole experience – the service, the atmosphere, and the food most of all!

Sensational! Great food, wine, service and the desserts are delicious as well. The shellfish platter is beautifully presented and all so fresh and well cooked. The langoustine starter is incredibly tasty as are the scallops for main. I cannot fault this restaurant. The fish dishes are all so divine, fresh and seasonal. Definitely one of the best mussels I have ever tasted. Mussels with cider, leeks and chorizo that just melt in your mouth are a highlight of the evening. The staff are so friendly and efficient as well which makes you enjoy your experience that much more. Overall a fantastic night at Fishers in the City and would very highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys seafood.

Received such a lovely greeting upon arrival and drinks arrived promptly. The fishcakes and mussels for a starter were exquisite, followed by a wonderfully cooked lemon sole and a fabulous lobster thermidor, complete with chunky chips. The staff are always really attentive, friendly and professional. The dining experience here is up there with the best. The Fruits de Mer was outstanding – lovely, fresh oysters, half a Scottish lobster, dressed crab salad, king scallops, langoustines, clams and much more. Made it totally worth the money. Our waitress was really lovely and had lots of great information about the menu and recommendations which was so helpful. A fantastic evening in a beautiful, spotless restaurant setting.

Opening Hours: Monday – Sunday 11:00~22:00

A very nice place near the sea serving lovely, fresh seafood. The restaurant has a good atmosphere and great service. By far one of the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. The deep fried Monkfish is to die for and the mussels are delightful as well. The chips in all the suppers are perfect too! The batter is light and not too heavy, making for a filling but not sickening meal. Everything is well cooked and nicely presented and the staff are friendly and helpful. The portion sizes are just enough to make you feel satisfied but not bloated…Can not fault the food or service – overall a wonderful experience!
