Description
We love this apartment, and hope you will too – but please be warned: you’ll have to climb four flights to stairs to get here! Like many other Edinburgh apartments, there is no lift and access is by staircase only, so please bear that in mind when bringing luggage and children.
Each of the two bedrooms has a comfortable double bed, plenty of storage space for your clothes, a laptop-friendly desk, bedside reading lamps, hairdryer and a full length mirror.
The kitchen is well equipped with a double oven and gas hob, a large fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. A sound system allows you to plug in your portable music device or listen to the radio as you cook. We have provided tea, coffee, sugar and a cafetiere. Cooking essentials (salt, pepper, olive oil and spices) are also provided.
The living area is spacious and bright with a large dining table and ample space to relax in front of the TV (equipped with a Netflix subscription and a spare HDMI cable). There are also a few guidebooks to help you plan your stay.
Edinburgh can be cold(!) but our Nest thermostat will ensure you are always a comfortable temperature inside the apartment. Wi-Fi is provided.
We use professional cleaners to clean the property before you arrive and hire in hotel quality linen for soft comfy sheets and big fluffy towels, giving you all the comforts of home with a hotel quality clean.
A travel cot is also available but please do let us know if you will require.
Originally known as Shoemakers’ Land, the 17th century listed tenement building is historically important and used to house the meeting hall of the Cordiners (shoemakers and tanners).
Situated within the Edinburgh World Heritage Site in the heart of Old Town, our apartment is on Canongate – the lower end of the Royal Mile. It is within easy walking distance of all the tourist attractions of Old Town, Arthur’s Seat and many cafes, bars and restaurants. As it is on the main thoroughfare, it is busy day and night – particularly during the Festival. However, you can be guaranteed some tranquility a few minutes’ walk away at Dunbar Close Gardens, tucked away off the Royal Mile, or at Holyrood Park by the Scottish Parliament.
