Other personal considerations before travelling
Insurance – Do not leave home without it! It is more important than ever that you have a suitable insurance policy and you know what you are covered for. If you are booking a non-refundable rate, then make sure that your policy covers you in the event you need to cancel.
Check your accommodation provider’s policies on cancellation, cleaning protocols and procedure in the event that you fall ill. The Scottish government and the ASSC have published a guideline for all self-caterers to ensure cleaning standards are met. Ask your provider if they are complying with these guidelines. Foreign Office/Airports – check your own country’s policies on exit and entry before planning a trip.
