Best Meat Restaurants in Edinburgh

Fazenda  |  https://fazenda.co.uk/edinburgh/  | 102 George St, Edinburgh EH2 3DF

Opening Hours: Closed on Mondays

Lunch | Tuesday – Thursday 12pm~14:30 / Friday – Sunday 11:30~14:30

Dinner | Tuesday – Sunday 16:00~20:30

If you’re looking for a place to have an all you can eat meat feast, then Fazenda is definitely the best place for you. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fantastic and the staff are always so friendly. It’s definitely a more high-end restaurant but the quality of the food speaks for itself and is totally worth the price. Rest assured you will be full to bursting point after your meal as it is so hard to turn the waiter away when he comes round with a newly made batch of Picanha. My personal favourite is the lamb rump that can be grilled with salt or brushed with their speciality mint sauce which I can never get enough of. For the standard all you can eat meat menu at dinner time, it’s £35 per adult plus any extra costs for sides and desserts. Pricing for children between the ages of 9 to 12 is £11.30, for 5~8 year olds it’s £7.30 and free for kids under 5. Fazenda would undoubtedly be my top recommendation for any special occasion dinners out with friends or family. They also have a good wine list and great cocktails.

  • 29-31 Frederick St, Edinburgh EH2 2ND

  • Queensferry Rd, Cramond, Edinburgh EH4 6DY

Opening Hours: Monday – Sunday 12pm~22:00

At Miller & Carter, you are always assured of a delicious, value for money meal with amazing service. The restaurant is spotless with a relaxed atmosphere and the seating is so comfortable,  which all adds to the experience. Something unique about Miller & Carter in Frederick Street is that you can actually see the staff in the kitchen preparing your food which is highly entertaining especially when they’re  flambé-ing. The staff are great and know the menu well , thus happy to recommend a cut suited to your taste.  The steaks never cease to amaze me as they are cooked to perfection and the quality of the meat shines through. It’s reasonably priced for such a brilliant steakhouse downtown and it’s one of my regular go-tos with my family. There are also two different branches of Miller & Carter in Edinburgh, “Miller & Carter Edinburgh City Centre” and “Miller & Carter Cramond Brig” which is ideal because it means you can choose the one closer to where you’re staying.

Kyloe is definitely a must if you’re a meat lover visiting Edinburgh. They offer outstandingly delicious food with amazing presentation right in the heart of the city. You’re able to enjoy spectacular views of the castle from the window of the restaurant which gives the customer that extra special something. The decor is great too. The staff are always so attentive but never intrusive. They’re so knowledgeable and can answer any question you may have which makes you feel at ease. I will admit it’s on the more pricey side, but the quality of the meal definitely makes it worth it in my opinion. Rest assured you will enjoy a restaurant experience with a view unlike any other in the city.

If you are looking for a great mouth watering steak, then The Chop House is definitely one to look into! I would definitely recommend the 300g rib-eye at £29 with a side of triple cooked chips. The chips I had at The Chop House were by far the best I’ve ever had, in fact I even ordered an extra portion! From the moment you arrive to the minute you leave, you are made to feel welcome. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, and give great advice and recommendations. Not only are the steaks sublime but all the starters, sides and other main course options are also so delicious with a lot of variety to choose from. It’s not the cheapest meal you could get but it would certainly be one of my top picks for dinner out on a special occasion. The Chop House also has two branches in Edinburgh so you can choose the one better suited to you.

Hawksmoor  |  https://thehawksmoor.com/locations/edinburgh/

23 W Register St, Edinburgh EH2 2AA

Opening Hours: Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays

Lunch | Friday – Saturday 12pm~15:00 / Sunday 12pm~16:30

Dinner | Wednesday – Sunday 17:00~21:00

The restaurant itself is stunning and situated in an enviable location near the trendy St Andrews Square. The menu is indeed extensive with an impressive choice of starters, sides, main courses and of course, the main event, the Hawksmoor steaks! The 275g fillet steak at £34 cooked medium rare was just perfection and melted in my mouth. Definitely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. It certainly is a more high-end steak restaurant, but a lovely treat. The dripping fries they offer as a side are THE best and  a must try! There’s also nothing quite like the old spot belly ribs starter which would be another top recommendation of mine. The staff are lovely and efficient, and the food is served quickly. There is a great atmosphere and would be in my top picks for a luxurious meal out in Edinburgh.

Los Argentinos  |  http://losargentinos.co.uk/

28-30 W Preston St, Newington, Edinburgh EH8 9PZ

Opening Hours: Sunday – Thursday 16:00~22:30 / Friday – Saturday 16:00~23:00

Los Argentinos has an extensive menu which makes it ideal for a family visit as there is something for everyone. It is our top pick for great quality steak without the hefty price tag. The service is outstanding and all the staff were friendly and very accommodating. They always made sure we were happy and took time to greet us. The steak was tender and juicy, and a bargain for the quality compared to many of the city’s steak restaurants. The most expensive steak you can order is the 450g fillet steak at £29, a hefty steak for the price of a 225g steak in most other Edinburgh restaurants. The restaurant is quite rustic with bare walls and wooden tables and floors, a must visit for anyone wanting a steak dinner that won’t break the bank!
